What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state. It is similar to being absorbed in a book or film, and is usually characterised by pleasant relaxation. Some people liken it to daydreaming.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic use of hypnosis. During hypnotic trance, with the guidance of a therapist, you can access the power of the unconscious mind, effectively bypassing usual (conscious) barriers to thoughts and feelings.
Often in life, people establish negative behaviour which can become habitual. The unconscious mind controls this reflex behaviour. Hypnotherapy accesses the unconscious mind, and utilises a range of therapeutic techniques to help you establish positive behaviour and regain control life of your life. Although many of our negative habitual behaviours are driven by unconscious motives, the unconscious is also a massive reservoir of potential, knowledge and energy which can be activated via hypnotherapy.
Unlike drug-based interventions, hypnotherapy has no side-effects.
